Sue Ann Powers

June 18, 2026

Sue Ann Powers, 59, of Hellertown, formerly of Quakertown, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Kissimmee, Florida. She was the beloved wife of James Powers, with whom she shared more than 35 years of marriage.

Born in Quakertown, Sue was the daughter of the late Ervin Jr. and Christine (Clymer) Leister. She was raised in Quakertown and was a graduate of Quakertown Community Senior High School.

Sue dedicated her career to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Phoebe Richland. Her compassion extended far beyond her profession. She was someone you could always count on. To so many, Sue wasn’t just a friend; she was everyone’s best friend.

She found joy in sewing, crafting, gardening, and visiting casinos, but the happiest moments of her life were spent surrounded by her four grandchildren. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, and the memories they shared together will be treasured forever.

Sue is survived by her loving daughters, Stephanie Hopwood and her fiancé, David, of Macungie; Samantha Markowski and her husband, Robert, of Mohrsville; her four cherished grandchildren, Hunter, Lacey, Autumn, and Tripp; her siblings, Lisa, Tami, Shelly, and Billy; and many family members who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Leister.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sue’s life on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Naugle Funeral Home, 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
